Excellent Customer Service

Vorteile:

I appreciate their very attentive Customer service and the one-on-one attention that you can receive from the software developers and their support team. They have many videos that you can watch to help you learn on your own time if customer service is not available. Always super friendly and helpful. They operate with the philosophy that no question is a stupid question.

Nachteile:

I do not like the fact that trying to use the database on a mobile device can be a bit clunky. I would like to have an easier sign in process than using my browser application.

Fantastic for what we use it for, about 15 years behind in tech

Vorteile:

We love the prayer email functionality of it. All of our small groups get to include prayer requests with their attendance and that is why we use this program. That is the main reason! We also like that our users don't need to remember another username and password.

Nachteile:

It looks and functions like it is from the early 2000s. It is 15 years behind others like Planning Center etc.

Church Teams - A Good Option?

Kommentare: It's been an okay journey over the past 5 years or so.

Vorteile:

Church Teams is relatively user friendly, and makes for not a too bad "one-stop-shopping" option for event registration, child sign in, team leadership, charity receipting etc.

Nachteile:

There is no "forgot your password" option. Which for 2019, is unacceptable, and the reasons I plan to leave Church Teams ... soon. We get constant requests from volunteers who can't remember their passwords. One button, like all other online subscriptions, would solve this. It needs to be soon! The small group sign in is antiquated in its look, sending people to find a leader (by name) when the group is full. We have thousands of people who attend, ... how would they find that person? But the static page requires it remain this way. I really don't like this either. Support, is likely the worst piece of Church Teams for me. I called at 7pm the other night, they were closed, I called at 10.30am my time yesterday, they were closed. Training tools for team members are weak, at best.

Hi Wayne, I am so sorry to hear about your experience, tried to call and sent an email. It looks like support did get back to you that day on the phone and with helps via email. On the "forgot your password" option, for ease of use and security, we moved away from having leaders login choosing to use notifications and push out emails for them. If you need coaches or staff to login, they should be able to do that easily. I hope we have the opportunity to connect and get things straightened out. Sincerely, Boyd

The ease of use and the aggregation of data that allows us to have what we need at our fingertips.

Nachteile:

Only negative to me is that with online giving and text to give, a physical address needs to be required when first setting up the account. We send a follow up email the the giver requesting the info but that doesnt always work in practice. It would make it easier if we had the physical address from the get go available for giving statements at the end of the year.

Thanks Rodney. I know that our online giving doesn't require the physical address any longer, so maybe there is something unique you are doing there. Plus, we email statements so that you wouldn't have to have a physical address at all even for guest givers. I really appreciate you taking a few minutes to do this review. We love serving you guys. Vorteile:

It is helping in assimilation at our church much better than we were doing.

Nachteile:

It is very different from the system we were using. The old system was very basic and simple. I am not a good tech person and I was having difficulty navigating all the features this software had to offer. One thing that we really are missing is a generalized calendar to put all of our church events on. I know there are many out there, but it was nice using the calendar all in the same place one is doing all the other church system stuff in.

Church Teams is a great tool!

Relatively easy to learn. Group/event registration is easy and very useful for our church. Customer service is the BEST!!! Quick and a live human who speaks english like i do is ready to talk if needed.

Some features aren't intuitively realized by onscreen options/interface.

Great Church Management Software with a great support staff

Kommentare: Great experience using the software. I would also say they have the best support out of any company I have experienced. I get a call back in the same day.

Vorteile:

I like the forward thinking toward the next advancement in the software. It started years ago with small group reminder emails for attendance and prayer requests. Now they have added features such as text to give, all check, etc.

Nachteile:

It can be a little clunky on the backend until you are used to using it.

Kommentare: We are so thankful for Churchteams. We keep much more accurate records now and have much better communication. Sign-ups for events is a very handy feature that we use often.

Vorteile:

We love the ability to schedule people for serving and have the system automatically text them reminders about their scheduled service. It’s also handy to keep track of life group attendances. We also send emails to specific groups and use the group registration feature for special events and outreach opportunities. The teen leaders use the text communication to let parents know if an activity is running late. We use check-In and label printing for VBS and for our community soccer and basketball leagues. We also like the pricing that included unlimited numbers of groups.

Nachteile:

It feels very database-ish in its design. It is a database, so it still works for us. Some features are hard to understand at first, but we did some live online classes at the beginning to better understand processes.

Kommentare: We needed to have a means for team directors to communicate to leaders and within the team. Churchteams allows this. We also needed a means for easy access by users and the texting option and emails with Churchteams allows this.

Vorteile:

Communication is key. The texting options, reminder emails and texts, reports to review attendance, volunteer scheduling, and communicating between teams is awesome

Nachteile:

Not necessarily things I like least. Some suggestions are block out dates for volunteer scheduling and having a Calendar built into ChurchTeams for events. Highly recommend ChurchTeams.

Church Teams Review

Kommentare: Church teams is the second church system we have utilized,. The first was strictly for youth purposes while church teams is useful for the entire church. It is very user friendly, as I am not a computer savy person. I am continually learning how to best use the system to meet our needs and to make life a little easier for everyone.

Vorteile:

The thing I like the most about church teams is that they are continually adding, tweaking and updating features to the system. When they do make a change or update they communicate how to utilize the new addition.

Nachteile:

That text to church is an extra fee, however I do understand that.

The Good, The Bad, and the Not So Ugly!

Kommentare: Overall I have been very happy with CT. Most of the problems I encounter are people problems, not problems with the software.
Your customer service is extremely good.

Vorteile:

I am responsible for all the Accounts Receivable in our Church. CT has made the part of my job very easy. It is very simple to enter information as well as make necessary changes. The end of year giving process is very nice and I particularly love the webinars you have each year to go over that process. It really helps to refresh me on what to do as well as go over any features I might have missed or that are new. The feature that has brought me the most happiness was to add check recording/storage to CT when using a scanner. Thank you for that. I really have benefited from your webinars. Those have been the most helpful tool I have used.

Nachteile:

Other than the Financial permissions, there does not seem to be a lot of difference between the different levels. Having people update their own information has been a challenge. Because they do not understand how databases work they end up changing their contact information when it has not been changed. I also wish it was harder for people to create new records for themselves as a couple instead of an individual. For example: Instead of entering "John Smith" then "Sue Smith" they will enter "John and Sue" as the first name and "Smith" as the last name. Then I have to go in and separate, then merge them. I'm sure this is not specific to CT but to databases in general.

Kommentare: So the most incredible experience I had with tech support was a time that I totally messed up our online giving - in fact, I single handedly cancelled all ability of any transactions going through. This was something that was ENTIRELY my fault and could have cost our church thousands of dollars in offerings. I realized that this was a major problem on a Saturday afternoon. I put in an emergency call, and believe it or not, the owner of the company called me back and interrupted his dinner at a restaurant to make phone calls and pull in favors so that our online giving was up and running by Sunday morning. Loving my Churchteams!

Vorteile:

I am the pastoral assistant for a church with weekly attendance of about 800, and a database of 6063. We have been using Churchteams for more than five years. When I came on staff, Churchteams was set up, but there was no one to train me. I learned the program by watching the tutorials, and having tech support on speed dial. The program itself is very intuitive if you have minimal database skills. The most amazing part of Churchteams is their amazing tech support. They were always cheerful and very helpful with even the most basic questions that I had as a new user. When I left phone messages, they were always (yes, always) returned the same day or the next. It meets all the needs of a church of our size. We use it for general database uses and mailings, scheduling volunteers with reminder texts, all of our giving including text-to-give, check in for kids and teens, keeping track of membership and our membership classes, and small groups.

Nachteile:

Our website guy would like it if the links could be totally customized so it doesn't look like people are leaving our website when doing online giving or small group sign-ups.

Churchteams: Bare Bones but Affordable

Kommentare: Churchteams' customer service was fantastic. It was also the most affordable option for us at the time. However, a poor (bare-bones) design made it "seem" less professional. Perception is often reality, unfortunately.

Vorteile:

Customer service was great with ChurchTeams. Their team went above and beyond with all of our requests, even praying with our office managers on the phone and asking about their lives. Of course, that has little to do with the actual software, but it is and added bonus. Churchteams is a bare-bones option for small and medium-sized churches looking to establish a database. Because of limited interface design, it's fairly easy to navigate.

Nachteile:

Presentation was not at all impressive. The usability was limited because of this, in my opinion. To some, being pleasing to the eye isn't important, but we found it to be a drawback. Bad design makes people not want to use it as much as good design does. It's a fine line, but an important one.

Hi Daniel, Thank you for the review. Working on our User Interface is a priority for us currently. Our priority in development has been User Experience which is why we've focused on Text-to-Church and "responsive access". The result is software that you average guest, member, leader and volunteer use by simply clicking a link in an email or text and they are doing whatever you want them to do. So, for them, UI is not as relevant as UX. The outward facing pieces of the software like Online Giving, Check-in, Volunteer Scheduling, Event Registrations do have a really nice UI and the rest of the system is coming along. As far as size is concerned, our larger churches of several thousand attendees actually prefer the UX reliability and feature richness. And, especially, thank you very much for affirmation about our #1 value of serving churches as we would want to be served.

Churchteams Rocks!!!

Kommentare: I love the quick response of the team when I have a question/issue. Its a personal feel you don't get with other companies.

Vorteile:

I love how easy it is to use this software. The donors love it and I do too. It makes life easy for reconciliation of the deposits with easy to read and accurate reports. I also like how you can add destinations and turn on/off when needed. Being able to rank destinations is also helpful in keeping important ones on top.

Nachteile:

I would like to have envelope numbers for members to show up on reports. It will be great if this could be added.

Couldn't be happier, does everything we need and it's super easy to use!

Kommentare: I oversee most of the ministries in our church and churchteams has made managing all of those groups a breeze. Can't imagine going back to a life without this management software!

Vorteile:

Churchteams is very user friendly and intuitive. Great for every aspect of managing groups including sign-ups, attendance, reports, follow-up, scheduling volunteers w/built in reminders and so much more! Very helpful in tracking an individual's involvement and spiritual growth indicators. As an added bonus, we recently began using their online giving feature which is less expensive than our previous provider. It has streamlined our book keeping process and made registering and paying for church events an easy one stop process. All that being said, the Churchteams feature I most appreciate is their support team. Very friendly, knowledgeable people who are super responsive - always get an email or call back within 24 hrs. and usually much sooner.

Nachteile:

Technology and I don't normally get along very well and there have been some instances where I had some difficulty running a report I needed. The nice thing about churchteams, however, is that in the few instances where I've run into that issue, I just contacted support and they ran the report I needed for me and then took the time to explain how I could do it myself the next time. Probably will not be an issue at all for someone who knows their way around a computer.

Great for the Money

Kommentare: We switched from a well known expensive program that was just too difficult to use with limited customer service. We have been very pleased with our Church teams experience. The program is limited in some areas but the cost makes up for that in a big way! It does everything we need it to do. The customer service is the best. The Team really tries to help. I sent an email to service late on a saturday night and received a reply that night with the answer I needed. That is impressive.
I like that you are always improving the product as well.

Vorteile:

Churchteams is a great value for the price. It does everything you need at a fraction of the cost of other church management software. The customer service it FABULOUS! Cannot say enough about the high level of attentive service the team gives.

Nachteile:

The interface is very limiting. The look on the website interface is basic and not able to custmize as much as we would like. You can do it but the process is hard it does not embed into our website template and is clunky. This all may be a lack of knowledge issue. Our biggest problem has bee n in the program timinig out on Sundays. We have talked with support and we still have the issue.

Great church management software

Kommentare: Our experience as a church has been very positive. The software has been well received by our small group leaders and assures us that they give us weekly attendance reports. The report function is also very useful to understand certain metrics about our church.

Vorteile:

Churchteams has made it very easy for us to track what is happening in the church including small group involvement, Sunday attendance, offerings, etc. Over the years Churchteams has become a powerful tool to help us manage our church membership and understand how people are involved in the church.

Nachteile:

I have very few cons. As the functionality of the software has grown and the many options it provides, at times it can be a little difficult to find out where certain settings are. This is a minor problem considering all that the software can do for your organization.

Best Church Software I've Ever Used

Kommentare: When I first started using ChurchTeams, I was a small group pastor with no assistant or administrative help. When we launched 103 groups that was a lot of data to potential have to input. Considering I wore several hats in our church, it would have been impossible. By sending our group leaders a link to ChurchTeams database, they set up their own groups, populated their rosters, then completely weekly reports online about their group members. It was a life saver. In Group Connection environments where groups leaders meet prospective group members, the mapping feature has been extremely helpful for prospective group members to see which groups are near them. I could go on and on. I have nothing bad to say about this product.

Vorteile:

ChurchTeams has an intuitive interface. It is mobile friendly. The fact that volunteers can access their groups from anywhere is a huge plus. Removes the centralized administrative tasks that most church databases require. It provides both high security and usability. I have used this product since 2004 when it started as a small groups database. Now, ChurchTeams can do everything. The staff is polite and very responsive. You can pick up the phone and call the President of the company if you need to! They are always learning and improving. Always open to suggestions. I highly recommend ChurchTeams. It's affordable, efficient, and safe. As we say in the South: "Dumb if you don't!"

Great Value for the Money

Kommentare: We have loved using Churctheams. They are constantly updating and improving the software. And their customer service is top of the line!

Vorteile:

We love the amount of features you get for the price. We also love the integration of giving (both online and by text) with the system. It really streamlines our record-keeping. The online registration capabilities is also great! Their recent addition of automated Workflows has also added a ton of possibilities. We can easily track guests and other data points. There small group tracking capabilities are on point!

Nachteile:

It doesn't sync with Planning Center, which would be very useful in keeping the data correct on our people. Sometimes, the way of doing things is a little odd as they have added many useful features to the software over the years, but because it was first built as a small group tracking software, the added features sometimes feel like they were forced into that architecture. They don't have a dedicated mobile app, and sometimes the mobile interface has glitches on phones.

Very happy with Churchteams

Vorteile:

This software does all we need. We are more than a church, we are a ministry and have many functions. Churchteams handles all of it well. Income tax receipt giving is a breeze and very easy to use. The customer support is second to none. They are very friendly, answer back in a very timely manner, and are quick to fix all problems encountered.

Nachteile:

Might be a little on the expensive side, but probably not different then other's of the same degree.

This is a fantastic software that is designed to easy-to-use from its core.

Vorteile:

The notes options at each group level and for individual accounts is an amazing feature! The automatic prompts for group meeting reports makes it super easy for leaders to complete weekly reports. The report builder features is AMAZING!! Being able to select exactly what you want to see on each report (and save them for one-click use) drastically reduces the amount of time spent compiling data, and frees leaders up to focus on people. And on top of all this, the support and development teams are constantly looking for ways to improve the software. They are open to feedback and suggestions and always ready to help when called on!

Nachteile:

I honestly can't say there is anything that I would like differently. Since we started using this , they've pushed out so many updates, it's hard to think of things I'd like them to change.

Ok, but kind of hard to use.

Vorteile:

It is useful for allowing several users within a large church to communicate with their own teams via cellphone or email. It does get the job done and the latest update made signing in a bit easier. So, it does appear that they are responsive to feedback.

Nachteile:

I don't have another system to compare this one with but I found this system hard to use myself. I would try to set up a template so that I wouldn't have to keep retyping introductions to new members. Somehow, it didn't always save and I would have to redo it. I think that someone else had access to change what I had written maybe, so each time different people would type up a template it would save over what the previous user wrote. The problem I have with that is we all had our own logins and supposedly separate groups so this shouldn't happen. I also had a hard time adding or removing people from the email lists. I also found it hard to use update my password. It ended up saving more than one and it was hit or miss on which one it wanted to me sigh in with.

New Features all the time

Kommentare: Set up was easy, training was time consuming but worth it. We love that everyone can have it on our phones and the children's check-in is very easy after initial set up.

Vorteile:

It's easy for our leaders to use. We've used software in the past that's only accessibly to the office, this is accessible (in levels) to everyone. We get leader participation and it even links a list of our groups with leader contact onto our website. Children's check-in and giving are used weekly. We also use the check-in (without label printing) to take attendance of adults in worship. We take attendance in small groups, too.

Nachteile:

We would love it if we could combine daycare/school options found in other programs like ProCare so that we had one database. We'd also love to add a section for outreach so that we can track how many people we serve in our pantry or meet on the street.

Thanks for the review, Yvonne! You should be able to create a pantry group and then use the notes on member profiles to track interactions. Call us if you would like to strategize through that.

Experience using Church Teams

Kommentare: We use many of its features and it has worked for our church. I have to say the customer service has been outstanding for us and that can make all of the difference in the world.

Vorteile:

It’s functional and has some features that help with small groups

Nachteile:

It feels a bit outdated. The html for pictures and graphics make it feel like an older program. There are some additional features/customization to the children’s check in that would be nice to have especially concerning label print outs.

ChurchTeams - Church Management and Database

Kommentare: ChurchTeams is an excellent tool for what we want to accomplish in our community. Bang for buck - this is the one!

Vorteile:

ChurchTeams is packed full of useful tools, excellent group management resources, and a top-notch search ability.

Nachteile:

ChurchTeams is not the most intuitive software to use (think PC vs Mac). It's got SO many hidden resources and tricks - but someone has to be heavily committed to learning to make use of them.
