Connected and Compliant eQMS

Kommentare: I have been a MasterControl admin for over 8 years. From the start, it was apparent that MasterControl is super customer focused and wants their customer to succeed in implementation and beyond. Their support is much better than what I've experienced with other software vendors and they value feedback and suggestions from the customers.

Vorteile:

I love that all of MasterControl's modules are connected. Document management, training management, and Quality Event Management all talk to one another and help to streamline our processes. It's also very easy for basic users to learn.

Nachteile:

My biggest complaint has been the lack of flexibility in Quality Event workflows. This is being solved by the new Advanced QEM product, which I'm super excited about.

7 successful years with MasterControl

Kommentare: We have been using MasterControl since 2016 and since then we have NEVER received an Audit finding (neither by our ~global customers, nor any regulatory body like DQS, district government or even FDA).I feel secure and relaxed, knowing our quality documents are in a secure, validated system that I can access from anywhere, and that they sit in a system even our customers and the regulators themselves are utilizing!As a Pharma/MedTech logistics company, an electronic QMS system is a necessity and we are looking forward to utilizing more innovations with our imminent move to the MasterControl Cloud, especially because of the very promising AQEM solution!

Vorteile:

Document Collaborations, Deviation/CAPA forms, training structure (Course/Exam/JobCodes/Trainee) is excellent

Nachteile:

Too many bugs in necessary utilities like Action Items and Extension Requests, Management of Change module not up to our quality standards, Jreports are very user unfriendly

QMS - High Standard

Vorteile:

I love the interconnectedness of the modules so I can have complete picture of my company's QMS and the ability to automate processes that were done manually in the past, i.e., periodic review, release and archiving of documents, deployment of training once the effective date is set for a document, being able to pull reports on data in the system.

Nachteile:

It can bit overwhelming if you are not in the system everyday and not the most usee friendly experience at the moment for basic users.

MasterControl QC review

Vorteile:

Cloud based solution. Document version control. Paperless routing for review and approval. Parallel approval. Training management.

Nachteile:

Some areas of interest take many clicks to get to the page. A shortcut for favorite pages would be great. Some of the boxes are too small (tracking report details, curriculum for trainee infocard)

Excellent eQMS system

Kommentare: The overall experience has been very good.

Vorteile:

It is much easier to manage the documentation. Paper records easily get lost.

Nachteile:

The least appealing part is the cost. The product is quite expensive but we believe it is worth it.

Great QMS

Vorteile:

One stop for all things Quality related. Training, automated eForms.

Nachteile:

Not being able to upgrade to the Cloud to get all the fantastic features.

One of the best value for your money

Kommentare: Master Control has revolutionized the amount a single document controller can process. Prior to implementation there was a massive backlog of ECNs, now it rare to see an ECN take more than a day or two. I'm no longer going from desk to desk searching for documents.

Vorteile:

Master Control automates a lot of our processes that were manual and paper based. Routing ECN/DCN have been a breeze within the software compared to how we manually did it in the past. The automation has allowed our company to process more changes at a faster rate which has made our customers very happy.

Nachteile:

The only set back is not being able to fully customize everything to my liking. It's rather small and has not caused any significant issues, it's more of a personal preference.

Paperless quest

Vorteile:

This software has enabled us to transition away from paper-based serial processes to electronic, parallel processes. It has brought bushiness efficiencies and increased compliance.

Nachteile:

There were so many benefits to our business when we brought in this software. But (understandably) there were growing pains to balance what it/is not configurable vs making changes to long held business processes.

With A Quality Eye

Kommentare: It maybe confusing at first but once you understand how all the modules work and how you can adapt it to meet your needs it's great.

Vorteile:

All documentation is in one place and excellent traceability. Electronic signatures reduces paper and time gathering wet signatures.

Nachteile:

The system does require daily administration which needs to be recognised by business owner. The audit module isn't user friendly and could do with some improvements.

Leader in Document Control Systems

Kommentare: The ability to keep all documents in one location with visibility being managed by rights in the system reduces the concerns in our previous paper-based system. Also the approval process being electronic reduces delays from those out of town who can now sign wherever they are.

Vorteile:

The configuration abilities that allow you to make adjustments that apply most directly to your company.

Nachteile:

The implementation of the software wasn't as clear and smooth as we needed.

Gründe für den Wechsel zu MasterControl Quality Excellence: MasterControl is a much larger platform that allows connection across many elements. Their obvious success with Document Management made them difficult to beat.

MasterControl

Kommentare: Frustrating more than anything, primarily relating the cons listed. I inherited the system in a state that would have worked well on a small scale during initial adoption, but was completely unmanageable at scale. After years of cleanup, it's working better for us, but the system still leaves much to be desired, and after 5+ years of using it 5 days/week, I can tell you not a day has gone by that we don't experience a bug. Fortunately, they're rarely critical. As stated in the cons, it gets a passable performance, though it could be easily improved if they took the time to do so.

Vorteile:

The best feature of MasterControl as a whole is the process module. Process module allows custom electronic form development and allows custom routing for those forms. While it can be improved, it's a great tool, and in my opinion, MasterControl and most customers are not realizing its potential, but we do. 80% of our records are generated in the process module.

Nachteile:

There are a number of factors that all seem to coalesce to create a system that can easily become unmanageable. Those are poor documentation related to best practices that isn't easy to find or well communicated by MasterControl, lackluster support, and an already confusing user platform with a generally poor user experience. There are number of small improvements that could be made that would greatly improve user experience, but MasterControl rarely seems to develop enhancements. I've used several versions over the years, and in most cases, the user experience got worse, not better. Providing clearer/more readily accessible documentation, better support and recommendations for admins during initial setup, and making some small quality of life changes would really go a long way. With that said, that software meets all baseline requirements in satisfactory way.

Supplier Module

Kommentare: Overall not a bad experience. Wish the cost for classes was a bit less.

Vorteile:

The supplier module, if set up correctly, allows the firm to set up all the various suppliers and link them to one another. The linking feature allows us to build a picture of the supply chain. Be sure to set up specific "Infocard" numbering schemes that match the various suppliers. For example, "Manufacturer-0001", "Vendor-0003", "Packager-0004". This way, when you link the infocards, you will immediately know the the entity is prior to opening the infocard. The ability to add custom fields is absolutely critical.

Nachteile:

The contacts field needs a persons title field. Currently have to add the title next to the name of the individual which does not contain enough characters.

Initial Site to Multiple Sites

Kommentare: I've been a MasterControl System Administrator for two different types of companies now. Both companies started using MasterControl at one site and have/are spreading the usage of this software to their international locations. The process to deploy to other locations is very controlled and Administration has plenty of options in regards to how much data can be made available between the two.
Overall, great solution to the answer many of the needs of a company in today's regulated industries.

Vorteile:

MasterControl bridges many of the critical functions of a regulated industry. The ability to have documents/training/audit/event forms/projects and more interacting directly is a huge advantage. All of these processes are required anyway, why waste resources on individual manual systems or separated software systems? MasterControl brings all of the benefits of a non-manual process with additional bonuses due to the inter-connectivity.

Nachteile:

The pricing is quite steep - especially in regards to licensing it's always a significant business decision to invest in more. The upgrade/enhancement process is actually designed well with the exception of retroactive updates. Many new/requested features are implemented in newer versions but upgrading is also a significant business decision.

Daily User / Master Control Administrator

Kommentare: I have setup, maintained and used multiple training database systems, this one is very basic and for the most part user friendly. The reports needs to be more user friendly. There are multiple sites within my company that use Master Control and there have been issues with Master Control billing that has let to time wasting activities.

Vorteile:

Master Control is a user friendly, real time data management system.

Nachteile:

There are 2 cons to Master Control (both reports related); running reports is NOT user friendly and report layout is not detailed enough.

MasterControl Quality Excellence in a heavily regulated industry.

Vorteile:

The ability to have all of our documentation in one place is vital. Especially in case of any regulatory audit.

Nachteile:

Bugs in the system create significant problems for end users. These bugs in some cases also eliminate the ability to use or even in some cases access features or utilities that are being paid for and are supposed to be included in the system. In most cases if the issues being seen are not able to be duplicated, there is no root cause which proves in and of itself to be extremely difficult to document and explain in a heavily regulated industry.

You get what you put into it

Kommentare: System is good but can require a lot of workarounds. Not as intuitive or user friendly ad it could be.

Vorteile:

Great system for training compliance. Allows us to effectively track training compliance

Nachteile:

Some difficulty with assigning classroom training. Cannot select more than one trainer at a time

Great Software

Kommentare: Really like the tool

Vorteile:

Easy to use, configurable and scalable. Without needing to do too much customization!

Nachteile:

Some features are limiting and she be configurable by admins (I.e. changing user passwords)

Mastercontrol Qx

Kommentare: a huge step forward for the business, we went from 12 local QMS to a single gloabl QMS

Vorteile:

the ease of the implementation, the team from MasterControl were a great support.The system itself is very intuitive and easy to use for end users

Nachteile:

throughout the system there are some inconsistencies between screens for example on some you have a back arrow on others you have to click cancel

Kommentare: Very good customer service for any issues.

Vorteile:

One eco system, training and now the ability to do insights.

Nachteile:

It's starting to look dated. Searches and results are limited.

One Year on from our install of MasterControl

Kommentare: As a cloud customer it has been challenging to understand the maintenance, patch and upgrade processes of MasterControl. We have experienced issues and unfortunately some that have been repeated causing the business to loss confidence in the platform and the control / verification of updates. I am glad to report we are now working very closely with MasterControl on how we move forward to reduce issues and have a better understanding of their process.

Vorteile:

The ability to have multiple modules all in the same platform. For example we can record non-conformances and CAPAs and link them directly to documents stored within the same system.

Nachteile:

I find MasterControl a great documentation platform with additional modules added. The documentation module works great and seems to have been development well over time. I find some of the other modules newer to the platform are still a bit limited, will be great to see them continue to be developed.
