Overall its easy to navigate and they don't put a whole bunch of things that you will never use. They really do work hard to make it easy for us.
The App that comes along with it gets stuck on a screen or 2 but I am working on that with the UDA team.

Robust construction management software
Kommentare: We are about two months into the implementation process and it has gone more smoothly than expected. Support training is super helpful in getting the team members up to speed.
Vorteile:
Having the ability to track a project from a an early lead, to an estimate and proposal and through the construction and completion is incredibly helpful to have all the information on one platform.
Nachteile:
The cloud based platform can have some compatibility issues with certain browsers (Microsoft Edge). It can get bogged down in the Redline planroom and takeoff features with really large files.

6 months in and starting to love it
Kommentare: It was intuitive to set up but also very labor intensive. Took me about eight weeks of 60 hour days to get the basics up and running.
Vorteile:
Selections Easy to use Similar enough to others that users can learn it very quickly. Scheduling looks like it’s going to work very well. Would like to see scheduling by the hour not just by the day.
Nachteile:
Payroll doesn’t import as they don’t link to Quickbooks online Doesn’t track subcontractor insurance policies Doesn’t provide lien waivers so we have to use a third system to get that No bid management system for gathering subcontractor bids, selecting and awarding subcontracts. It’s all very manual and thus very prone to error.

Vorteile:
Scheduling, email tracking, customer service is fast and very helpful.
Nachteile:
Filing. It would be nice if you could copy an updated file and it would replace not copy with a (1) and would just replace it.
We are excited to put gameplan into action, but it seems it needs some work first

Vorteile:
If GamePlan works as it should, this could almost turn our operations into a self driving car. The increased efficiency and convenience we expect to get out of this should have a direct impact on our bottom line, as well as our ability to leave our clients satisfied
Nachteile:
The OnSite App seems to need work before we can even use this. The language used in the app is confusing as well as the functionality. This makes the likelihood of proper use by our guys in the field highly unlikely, which could be worse than if we don't use GamePlan at all. It needs to be clear to the user that they just "Completed" the task. Currently, it says "Dismiss Event," which sounds more like you are ignoring the task. Additionally, you need a submit button, complete task button, or some type of clear confirmation that lets the OnSite User know, for sure, that they have just completed the task in the system. Then, the main page of the app needs to reflect that the task was completed. Additionally, I do not see anything actually being completed in construction online from the operations manager end of things. That takes most of the benefits of the software away. I tested this by creating a fake user account and assigning tasks to myself from construction online. I couldn't tell what I was doing when I was "Dismissing" event because I couldn't tell if it has updated the app. Then when I went into construction online, it did not show that anything of the tasks were completed. Again, we can't wait to get GamePlan implemented in the business, but I think we need some kinks worked out before we put it into place.

Great, Great product!!!
Kommentare: Great experience with people working at UDA. They know what they are talking about and they have a product that you would have to pay way more to get the same features. I have been with UDA since 2013 and they have never stopped improving their product. I probably will never switch to any other product.

It is shy of perfection, but which software is? We would like to have automation in the scheduling to allow adjustments and modifications to the timeline based on real world advances or setbacks

COL Review
Kommentare: The product is best in class and the customer support is always spot on. I never have long waits for answers and the ability to quickly reach an expert is very appreciated.
Vorteile:
COL is a solid software all around. Very few softwares have the built in functionality in COL. If I was going to design proprietary software for my company, it would look and function very much like COL.
Nachteile:
My only two complaints are the lack of more accounting integrations and the cap on projects. Having a few more options for third party integrations where COL doesn't have internal functionality would be a benefit.

Kommentare: It seems like a very comparable system to other construction management softwares out there for a lower price point.
Vorteile:
Over all the system is easy to use and seems to have many features that other more expensive softwares have.
Nachteile:
I believe this may be an add on feature but I feel like the PO/billing side is lacking. I would like to be able to track every expense per subcontractor/vendor in the system.
Great Construction Management Platform.
Kommentare: Very good communication from the initial demonstration, through the selection process; and on to helping us find the right solution for our needs. Everyone was really professional, knowledgeable and helpful.
Vorteile:
It's set up the way it should be. It's very easy to put in the information you need and access the tools. You can literally start working with the software as soon as you sign in.
Nachteile:
I have to spend some more time to find something.
Project Manager
Kommentare: Overall UDA is a great product. So far I mainly use UDA for estimating and scheduling only. I love how the estimates can be converted into schedules.
Vorteile:
I loved how UDA intregrates All Submittals, COI and data in place. And has the ability to monitor their status live.
Nachteile:
I really do not like the Daily logs. If I have 7 trades at our project. I have to create 7 different logs for the day to document the manpower I had on site.

Kommentare: I have used uda since 2007, when I decided to go to an online platform I tried several, none of them had the easy user platform that construction online had
Vorteile:
Estimate budget tracking, scheduling, the use of subcategories, the ability to set tax rates, and profit margins

You can not adjust the schedule from the mobile app

COL is Great
Kommentare: The support staff is amazing. I have always had great solutions to issues I come across here and there. The classes I took for the Quick Books integration were very helpful. We decided to change our entire book keeping around how socket exports to Quick Books.
Vorteile:
I love the estimating. It keeps the estimate more organized than Quick Books. Adding notes and attaching proposals from other subcontractors and suppliers keeps the information all close by.
Nachteile:
I don't care for having to edit every row line in the estimate so the description spacing can be larger than the Item and cost rows. I wish there was a way to change all of them at once in the top ruler of the editor.

Kommentare: Overall experience is very, very good. The only thing I would suggest, is that more time is spent with PM's like me to have more instruction on how to better use the software.

Working with [sensitive content hidden], Product Specialist on instructing me on how to use the "Take-Off "was very good, because she was extremely patient and explained the process is an easy way to understand. Additionally, she gave me more information than I asked for which helped me to get more use of the software. [sensitive content hidden] represents CO in the highest professional manner that makes me want to continue using the software. I hope she is available to help me when I'm at an impasse. Satisfied Customer for Sure! :)
Nachteile:
Construction Scheduling. Gnatt Chart is somewhat difficult to navigate and I need allot of tech support.

Kommentare: Organization, communication, scheduling, efficiency, productivity all improved by utilizing UDA.
Vorteile:
The best thing about this software is the almost instant customer support given through the live chat and the knowledge of all of the techs is superb.
Nachteile:
We are getting ready to integrate Quickbooks Desktop and it would be nice if UDA had their own accounting software within the program.
Essential
Kommentare: Very positive, used BuilderTrend, no comparison ConstructionOnline far superior.
Vorteile:
Daily records & plan view. Especially able to find dimension thru CAD.
Nachteile:
RFI, I do not think this is a software problem, but getting people to respond.
JFL Plug Power Mechanical Engineering review
Kommentare: Overall it's a great software. I have used countless apps and software that detail site information. I think the user interface is fantastic in my opinion, one of the best if not the best. I don't know how the project score works but I'm going to get more familiar. I think just doing this review has opened my world up to all these other tools that I will be using.
Vorteile:
The individual who designed the site interface did a great job. The weather and latest project activity are items that I'll now open when speaking to the engineer at site. In doing this review, I found out that I can see the address of the site, which sounds simple, but is INCREDIBLY useful. If one can imagine, I am looking for a site in 2015, and there are 8 buildings owned by the same major company. It takes me say, 10-15 min finding on google maps where the site exactly is, and even then sometimes it's unclear. Using this site already saved my 2 hours just with that simple application on the main user screen while I was doing this review.
Nachteile:
I think I'd like to have a "Read Me" about each particular site so that I understand what the mindset is of the individual onsite. As an example, a read me note would detail "Raymond Furr will be at site on Monday's and Fridays doing XYZ check, and uploading pictures as the equipment is installed. Feel free to upload site pictures if you have visited the site, or were sent by another party, but understand that I will review the images and may remove if aren't associated with site". This would be similar to "Jobsite Instructions", but it would be to a different audience, mainly to those who aren't on site and need/provide digital information
Katy taught me how to update contacts to allow for punchlist viewing by our team members.

Vorteile:
I enjoy the cross platform functionality. It's so great to be able to access our files from any location, either online or from our servers in the office. This makes a big difference as our team (and project list) continues to grow - we can allow viewing of select items/lists and we don't need to force anyone to use Mac or Windows to work within UDA. Far surpassing any software features, though, the fact that your IT staff is so prompt to respond and so helpful launches this software into one of my favorites I've ever worked with. All software has issues - it's how you respond and deal with those issues that differentiate you from the rest and I thank you for it. Now if you can just have some IT available until 5pm West Coast time (where I am) my dreams would really come true. Thank you to Katy and all the other fabulously helpful people I've interacted with!
Nachteile:
A trifling issue, but since you asked - when I add documents from our computer to the Project Files for a job, it's pretty wonky and time consuming. If I drag an item to the file list, instead of showing it was added - the file list scrolls back to the top so I have to scroll back down to see if it was even added - which it usually wasn't. This happens each time. This means I've taken to adding each document twice to ensure it imports so I don't need to scroll down to check if it's there or not. It would be MUCH nicer if the file list stayed put while I added files so I could see where - and that they were added to the list. Sometimes UDA lets me add mutliple documents and adds a 1 or 2 after each multiple - and sometimes it warns me that it already has that doc in the file. If this warning could pop up every time, I wouldn't need to then re-scroll down to the files I just added and delete duplicates. Also - just like when I add files, when I delete a duplicate the file list automatically scrolls back up to the top so I have to manually go back down to where I was to delete the next duplicate.

I use this software on a daily basis and the organization it brings to my project tracking, and scheduling is unbelievable. From estimates to completion, the software makes it possible to keep track of it all. What great software!
Nachteile:
About the software itself, I have no complaints. I have been using UDA Construction since 2004 and the software has a learning curve that needs a serious commitment and that is one of the reasons why I like the app so much because a lot of the data can be updated from the field. The learning curve was steep over the years but it has only skilled me in how one should think around construction projects which is also a benefit. The learning curve, however, for me has been slow for the simple reason that as my experience and projects grew the demand exponentially grew on the software itself, so my learning curve followed that trend.

Kommentare: As a new user/administrator with Construction Online, it seems that some training is necessary to easily navigate the software. I do enjoy the other features (Lead Pipeline and Project Estimating in the Financial tab). Once again, [SENSITIVE CONTENT] was integral in our business effort to connect the two software platforms, Construction Online and QuickBooks Online. I will request [SENSITIVE CONTENT] in the future for any challenges that arise and any time I need assistance. He is an asset to your team as well as ours.
Vorteile:
I like the communication between the software accounting and estimating features of Construction Online. I also am very impressed with the Construction Online and QuickBooks expert, [SENSITIVE CONTENT]. With his level of expertise and skills set, I successfully facilitated the integration of our QuickBooks Online with the Construction Online. This integration is essential to our business operations between Project Managers and myself as the administrator of the financials and accounting. I would highly recommend [SENSITIVE CONTENT] as an expert to assist with any client.
Nachteile:
Construction Online is labor intensive to integrate with QuickBooks Online. Several project features in QuickBooks are inactive/unusable when integrated with Construction Online. Also, not having the capacity to integrate/transfer payroll expenses for the job costing between the two software platforms is a disadvantage. I understand this feature is on the schedule with Construction Online to implement in 2022. Very happy about that.
Northern Legendary Review
Kommentare: I am setting it up to integrate properly with our Quickbooks software through the Socket function, and I really enjoy how the two connect. It seems to integrate well with quick books as long as you understand how the QB items work.
Vorteile:
I like the integration capabilities with Quickbooks, it's very easy to use. I also really enjoy the estimate templates and cost code set up. They are very easy to customize and make to fit your company needs.
Nachteile:
It needs equipment management!! There is a lot out there for estimating, project management and accounting integration, but there isn't much for equipment costing and tracking. Sage 100 features this and I think your software would go even further if you introduced equipment management as well. I also would like an option to not have a parent account when setting up an estimate into quick books, I aslo feel it could merge with the Chart of accounts a little better as well, the generic 'income' and 'expense' account could be made to fit the COA a little bit better.
Very easy to use and a rich set of features and functions
Kommentare: It has been excellent. We used the software application for years and about four years ago switched over to the online version.
Vorteile:
Ease of use Extensive functionality Client interface And last but not least, I can't say enough good things about the technical support team - they respond very quickly and are extremely knowledgeable.
Nachteile:
Wasn't easy to import our initial estimate templates into the system and required assistance from technical support.
Good Construction Software
Kommentare: I been using Construction Suite and Construction Online for many years. It is a well thought out software.
Vorteile:
Construction Online gives me the value of having everything I need in one place. Plus the client portal is a major plus for communication with my clients on change orders, scheduling, etc.
Nachteile:
Don't have any complaints. Sometimes when you need someone to help you, it may be awhile before they do call back.
Helpful Construction Software
Kommentare: The support service for this software has been friendly, timely, and very helpful. We have been very impressed with the quality of their solutions.
Vorteile:
We like its ease of use. Additionally the internet platform makes it available to all of our employees wheterh they are in the office or not.
Nachteile:
We would like to see the estimating portion use a single item entry system that could include labor, materials, trades, equipment and other costs in one line item in the database. The Construction Suite product does this. This feature is the only reason we are still using the Construction Suite software and have not moved completely to COL.
Time saving and expert and friendly support team
Vorteile:
With regret, I took my time integrating with my QuickBooks software. After a little over 2 years of having Construction Suite, I finally took the plunge and began the integration process between the two software programs. I love the ease at customizing the software to suit our particular business. The customer support is second to none! The staff is quick to resolve any issues and answer questions minimizing any downtime. No worries! If I make a mistake the staff is quick to show me what I did, while correcting my mistake. Mistakes happen, it is nice to know I have support when and if I need it. I highly recommend the total care package. You will not be disappointed! As for the reporting, Construction Suite provides additional useful reports to help evaluate the current state of your business and let you see at a glance the progress of all projects both financially and the current phase.
Nachteile:
Don't really have any dislikes! My only complaint is that I waited too long to do the integration between my software programs!
