Man sollte sich im Vorfeld schon ziemlich genau mit Business Central beschäftigen. Ausserdem sollte das Budget anfangs sehr großzügig ausfallen. Die Auswahl eines guten Systemhauses ist unabdingbar.
Wenn alles gut läuft, bekommt man dann aber eine Software, welche im täglichen Einsatz voll zu überzeugen weiss.
Vorteile:
Mit dem passendem Systemhaus, guten Nerven und einem üppigen Budget lässt sich ein begeisterndes ERP zaubern. Anpassungen und Optimierungen sind nahezu keine Grenzen gesetzt,...für mehr Produktivität bei allen Abläufen. Wir konnten in allen Bereichen enorme Zeitersparnis erzielen. Die Arbeitsgeschwindigkeit ist ebenfalls überragend. Darüber hinaus arbeiten wir wesentlich präziser. Kunden, Lieferanten und Partner sind begeistert.
Nachteile:
"Out of the box" geht hier gar nichts. Nahezu alles muss angelegt, eingerichtet und definiert werden. Darüber hinaus fällt es anfangs sehr schwer, den Umfang und die Systematik von Business Central einzuschätzen. Wir kamen von einem "geschlossenen" System, bei dem man nach Eingabe der Stammdaten eigentlich direkt loslegen konnte. Dies funktioniert hier nicht. Im Ergebnis führt das zu viel Stress und hohen Kosten für die Entwicklung. Die ersten Wochen und Monate nach dem "live" sind echt nicht lustig.
ERP-System mit Stärken und Schwächen
Vorteile:
Die Benutzeroberfläche ist modern und sehr intuitiv - so wie man es von Microsoft gewohnt ist.Das erleichtert die Implementierung und Akzeptanz bei den Usern.Es handelt sich um ein integriertes System, d.h. sowohl die Buchhaltung, Lagerverwaltung u.v.a. befindet sich in einem System.
Nachteile:
Wir sind ein sehr produktionslastiges Unternehmen. In diesem Bereich offenbaren sich doch einige Schwächen. So gibt es beispielsweise im Standard keinen arbeitsgangbezogenen Ausschuss und die Zeitwirtschaft ist nahezu nicht vorhanden.

Kommentare: Overall very satisfied with the service and want to continue this in future as the interface is very cinvenient to use.
Vorteile:
The best option available in Dynamic 365 business central is very flexible planning and forecasting. Fast, consistent and very smooth access to the data and assigning it to the team is very easy.
Nachteile:
At sometimes it losses the connection with server and got stuck but I think in updated versions this will be sorted out.

There is a learning curve to become efficient with Business Central. This does take some time.

What I value most is its seamless integration with the Microsoft ecosystem, which greatly facilitates adoption and use for companies already familiar with tools like Office 365. The flexibility of the platform is another strong point, allowing customizations that adapt to the specific needs of each business
Nachteile:
Despite its numerous advantages, it has some aspects that could be improved. From my perspective, the initial learning curve can be steep, especially for users unfamiliar with the Microsoft ecosystem. This can make it difficult for our marketing efforts when trying to convince potential customers of its ease of use. Another weak point is cost, which can be prohibitive for small businesses, limiting our target market
Beyond Cumbersome
Kommentare: I would create quotes and invoices using D365 BC. It is tedious, cumbersome, and nowhere near as clean, quick, and easy as Salesforce. I thought Salesforce was bad until I was introduced to Business Central and then quickly realized how much better I had it.
Vorteile:
Things could be done in it's own silo without interfering with regular Dynamics 365.
Nachteile:
Everything else. It was beyond cumbersome to just create a quote or invoice for a customer, and Salesforce combines everything into one, easier system. I think management at Prestige Medical Imaging went with it just because it was cheaper, but it wastes so much time.
Great software!

My team and I used this for our project management work and it was a great tool to get organized!

It was a bit expensive compared to others.

Pretty easy to navigate, but the screen formatting needs adjusted
Kommentare: We use the collections module, sales, purchasing, service cost, job cost, subcontractor module, and more. We use purchase orders and 3 way matching and use dynamics for a wide range of use.
Vorteile:
You can easily adjust titles to be in red or have distinctive features to stand out, but it is not always easy to do on the financial module and you cannot do it when using features like smartlist.
Nachteile:
The inability to generate certain reports (you have to set them up yourself) which can be VERY time consuming.
Full of unrealised potential
Vorteile:
I've evaluated NAV for other roles and now I have been using the product I am convinced that it is a very powerful product when configured correctly. It has options for many roles and the ability to configure the system exists but is limited by design.
Nachteile:
Very high cost support and difficult nature of upgrades is a real turn off. Each version upgrade is treated as a new deployment. Lacks the ability to make even the most basic changes without partner assistance or developer licence. While the product has a lot of potential I would be reluctant to upgrade an old version as I feel there are other products out there which can do the same job with a much more reasonable price tag. Value for money is the main reason I have marked this application down.
Keeps everything in once place.
Vorteile:
Dynamics allowed me to stay organised. as D-365 has many tools , with all the variety of plug-ins, setting up automation and communication takes some work but it is really easy to see how my pipeline is working and have a single view of the company in one single dashboard.
Nachteile:
it would have been great if it had a bit more features . i think that the reporting is the Achilles heel of the platform, it's a time-consuming task and not very straight forward as done in other platforms

Microsoft Business Central According
Kommentare: My experience was horrible as partners can deploy the Software but theask you enormous amounts over R200k to set it up. I also found that there is no support in South Africa for the software, you cannot phone quickly and found out how a thing is working. You have to go through the trouble to watch videos or read on Microsoft Learn. I could also not found one accountant who could work in this software for over two years. This was my biggest headache as well as the support on this software.
Vorteile:
Business Central is a great software with a lot of functionalities. It is the best account ing software in the market..
Nachteile:
Business Central support is South Africa does not exist. The partners are really useless and see Business Central as a way to make a quick buck. They rip you off and want to charge over R200k. I worked through business central and to set it up should not cost you more than 10k. Another setback is that you don't get accountants in South Africa that know how the software is working. I tried to find accountants for months, and not even one Microsoft partner could refer me to one accountant who knows the software. In South Africa as soon as you put the name Microsoft to a product the Microsoft partners want to Ripp you off? Microsoft business Central licencing is also very expensive and is around R1200 per user. Sage one accounting is very cheap against Business Central and they have quality support. I cannot see a feature for Business Central in South Africa as it is too expensive and basically you don't have any support for it in South Africa.
Make sure you check out the competition before committing to Business Central
Kommentare: The product is the product - they will not update to improve it! NB the products were acquired by taking over other companies and them re-badging to look alike - Nb the integration is poor!

Nothing. It is not nearly worth the 165,000.00 that we have put in to it over the last year.
Nachteile:
Everything. System does not work. Too many fields to jump around to, too many pages to jump to. Unable to keep pages open to work between. Unable to see Customer / Vendor numbers. Not enough character spaces in some fields. Document date does not pull in correctly on Payment Journal. Check Stub total dollar amount prints on top of check number of lower stub. No vendor number prints anywhere on the check or stub. System creates two or three numbers for every PO, Job, Invoice. Payment Journal populates every Vendor that has a transaction then you have to choose which one to pay and then delete what you don't want. Checks do not print out in Alphabetical order. I can go on and on. Nothing good to say about this Program. It is not even written for our Industry. We were not even listed in the choices for Industry. What does that tell you.
Great ERP software with great integrations

I have been working with Dynamics NAV and Business Central for almost 4 years now, as a technical consultant. I install and implement BC on regular basis.
Also I support customers with technical issues around Business Cental, which I love to do.
The possibilities with BC are endless.
Vorteile:
As a technical consultant, who installs and implements Microsoft Dynamics Business Central I find the integrations with all Microsoft's Azure applications a big plus. Seamless integration with Microsoft's Flow, PowerApps, Outlook, etc work very well.
Nachteile:
There USED to be some disadvantages of Business Central, because for a long time Microsoft wasn't clear what course they would go. But now the course is set to the cloud (Azure) and I think that is the only way to go.
Great software to support accounting processes!
Kommentare: A great tool for everyday accounting processes: reports, invoices, and managing different outlets within the company.
Vorteile:
It is easy to run reports, since all the data you might need is in there. We use it to make invoices, and pro-forma invoices. It is great to have and keep our customer's database updated. It's easy to add new data. Be able to customize the data you use it everyday is a big plus.
Nachteile:
Managing this software requires a lot of practice. You have to get familiar with it before run important reports and invoices. If there are too many processes at once, it can run slow and even block you out, so you'll have to wait until the system get less busy.
Great software, if you're not afraid of customization

Vorteile:
One of NAV's biggest strengths is the fact that it's a Microsoft product, so the ease of use factor is high, given the fact that virtually all employees are familiar with MS ribbons, icons, etc. NAV is also customizable (with the help of a consultant). The fact that it is customizable, yet easy to up-gradable, is a huge factor.
Nachteile:
There are some basic items that are only available through customization. I would like to see MS make these accessible as items that users can configure, vs. having to pay for customization.

As a Project Manager, MS Nav is more of a hassle than it should be. No fields automatically fill and you are often entering the same information multiple time.
For example, even though you Login with your Username and Password - You must fill in Who you are, What Division you work for, What Sub Company you Work for, List your manager, the Date - All just to write an order. Also, each line item in a PO requires the date to be entered 3x and the job number to be typed after each item. Unacceptable when it comes to productivity and user friendliness

Needed an upgraded accounting system
Vorteile:
This system offers a lot of reporting options. It helps us keep track of multiple businesses in one system.
Nachteile:
The initial set-up and use of this system was a little difficult. The training was not as thorough as it could have been by the BC team. Once we received actual system use it was easier to kind of train ourselves on the system features and the best ways to make the system work for us.
