April 2025* | Internet | Empfehlungsbewertung: 4.0/10 > > **Vorteile**: Einfache, übersichtliche Benutzeroberfläche erleichtert die Bedienung. Unterstützt zahlreiche Virtualisierungsplattformen wie VMware, Hyper-V und XenServer. Agentenlose Backups reduzieren Aufwand und Systembelastung. Effiziente Deduplizierung und Komprimierung sparen Speicherplatz. Schnelle Wiederherstellung virtueller Maschinen (auch plattformübergreifend). > > **Nachteile**: Keine transparente Preisauskunft auf der Webseite; erschwert Budgetplanung. Wichtige Funktionen wie die Replikation fehlen leider. Eingeschränkte Unterstützung einiger Virtualisierungsplattformen (z. B. Proxmox). ----- ### "Straightforward and Practical VM Backup Solution for VMware Environments" — 4.0/5 > **Chamindu** | *28. August 2026* | Computer- & Netzwerksicherheit | Empfehlungsbewertung: 8.0/10 > > **Vorteile**: What I like most about Vinchin Backup \& Recovery is the straightforward approach to protecting virtual machines in a VMware environment. Adding the virtualization environment and organizing VM backup tasks is relatively easy to understand, and the web-based management interface makes it convenient to monitor backup jobs from one place. For an administrator managing multiple VMs through vCenter, the centralized backup workflow is useful and reduces the complexity of day-to-day backup management. I also appreciate that the product focuses specifically on backup and recovery without making the basic workflow unnecessarily complicated. > > **Nachteile**: The product is easy to use for normal backup operations, but I think the technical documentation and troubleshooting information could be more detailed. When working with more advanced configurations or investigating an issue, having clearer explanations of error messages, network requirements, and recommended troubleshooting steps would make the administrator's job easier. More detailed technical examples for different VMware environments would also be useful. > > Overall, my experience with Vinchin Backup \& Recovery has been positive. My main requirement was to manage backup protection for VMware virtual machines in a vCenter-managed environment, and I found the solution comparatively straightforward to understand and work with. The management interface is clean, the backup workflow is logically organized, and it is convenient to have centralized visibility of backup tasks. From an infrastructure administrator's point of view, ease of management is important because backup systems need to be monitored regularly rather than only when a recovery is required. I would especially like to see continued improvement in technical documentation, troubleshooting guidance, and more detailed information for advanced scenarios. Overall, Vinchin provides a practical backup and recovery platform, particularly for organizations looking for a manageable solution for virtualized infrastructure. ----- ### "Reliable multi-hypervisor backup that punches above its price tag" — 4.0/5 > **Kawan Henrique** | *14. August 2026* | Informationstechnologie & -dienste | Empfehlungsbewertung: 9.0/10 > > **Vorteile**: What sold us was the hypervisor coverage. We're a service provider with a mixed estate (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, XCP-ng and Sangfor HCI) and Vinchin backs all of them up agentlessly from one console. Very few products do that without a second license or agents inside every guest. Value for money is excellent: per-socket licensing is transparent and costs a fraction of Veeam or Commvault for the same host count. The learning curve is short — clean web console, self-explanatory job wizards, first jobs running the same day. Instant VM recovery has genuinely saved us, bringing a failed VM back online straight from the backup repository in minutes. Support is responsive and technically competent. > > **Nachteile**: Logging is the weak point. When a job fails the log rarely tells you why, so you open a ticket for something you should be able to diagnose yourself. Documentation for advanced scenarios is thin. The dashboard and reporting are functional but basic, limited alert customization and no polished reports to hand a client, so we still build our own. For an MSP, multi-tenancy could go further: separating clients and delegating access is more manual than it should be. Cloud/object storage is noticeably slower than local repositories, and Microsoft 365 coverage is incomplete. The backup server is also resource-hungry, give it real CPU and RAM. > > Positive. We adopted it because it covered hypervisors our previous solution didn't, and it has been dependable (Jobs run on schedule, restores work, administration doesn't eat much time). Licensing is easy to explain to clients and renewals don't surprise anyone. It isn't a Veeam replacement in every respect, observability, reporting and multi-tenant tooling are clearly less mature, and you feel that when something breaks. But for a heterogeneous environment on a budget the trade-off is worth it. Recommended for service providers and mid-sized IT teams, just test your restores and your object storage targets before relying on them. ----- ### "comet: take us now" — 1.0/5 > **clint** | *3. April 2025* | Anwaltskanzlei | Empfehlungsbewertung: 0.0/10 > > **Vorteile**: nothing really differentiates this product from any other. it's like how every bank offers the same exact 'features' and every home insurance and car insurance and health insurance and everything else in your life is identical. does backup program things, box checked, lets move on > > **Nachteile**: the price. i just cant bring myself to pay actual money for something that is essentially an elaborate gui for rsync. i actually, and i'm not making this up, used Claude AI to write a python script that just maps the datastores off the host server via sshfs and tar/zstandard's them. saved me like $20,000 which of course i don't actually get but -- neither do you. > > nearly identical to 100 other products with equally forgettable names ----- ### "Very Good Product and All In ONE" — 5.0/5 > **MOHD HISSAMUDIN** | *7. August 2026* | Eisenbahnbau | Empfehlungsbewertung: 10.0/10 > > **Vorteile**: Easy like veeam backup and friendly to understand about backup and replication from sangfor hci and vmware > > **Nachteile**: Can combine tape backup and no need another software, before this need veritas and veeam backup for backup and now all in ONE > > Good and easy to learn, need more time to understand all function for me.
