Nachteile:

I would like to have more integrations for business software. It works great with commercial stuff like google, alexa, mail, etc. But on a larger business term like integrations of CRM, Mailchimp and Slack it falls short.

Nachteile:

The main issue with IFTTT is that it can be a bit unreliable. Applet triggers can sometimes fail to execute properly, and there is no way to be sure when this will happen. In addition, the range of services IFTTT can integrate with is limited, which can be a problem for users who require more custom solutions.

Such promise. Much undelivered.

Kommentare: My overall experience with IFTTT is a letdown. And I've held out hope for YEARS. Just couldn't make it useful from a business perspective.

Vorteile:

I like the idea of IFTTT more than anything else. The UI is nice and clean.

Nachteile:

The big disappointment in IFTTT is that is just doesn't do enough for professionals/business. Not only that, but trying to modify or edit the settings of an applet is difficult if not impossible. There's just not enough control.

Automation is now a childs play.

Kommentare: My basic use of the IFTTT is to give notification on Telegram whenever a new row is inserted in Google Sheet and IFTTT is doing the same quite flawlessly.

Vorteile:

Easiness and straightforward approach make the IFTTT ahead of other available solutions, It took only 2 minutes to sign up and I am pretty sure in total 10 minutes your Alert system/Automation is ready to run. Even in the free account 3 number of automation tasks are free for life and with zero latency.

Nachteile:

In the case of the Google sheet option available options are very limited like a change in single-cell value/Insert a new row where Zapier provides many more options.

Simply the best home automation toolset

Kommentare: setting up home/office integrations that remove interruptions from the working day.

Vorteile:

A wider range of connectors than anywhere else, and the simplest way to create most triggered actions. IFTTT pro now allows multi-step actions which would address most of the issues I had earlier.

Nachteile:

being able to link to multiple accounts for triggers and actions would give me everything I really need from this now.

The best value-for-money automation platform

Kommentare: It is an awesome tool that has saved us enormous amount of time and has allowed us to automate huge part of our day-to-day tasks

Vorteile:

With IFTTT "recipes" we were able to automate nearly 50% of our daily processes. From simultaneous posting to archiving (moving files in google drive) to logging (keep track of every change at a google spreadsheet) we were able to automate every repetitive task in our organization.

Nachteile:

Sometimes the service stops working (ie when you change your password to any connected platform you need to re-autorize IFTTT) and it might take a while before you realise it.

Easy to use Social Media Management

Kommentare: I love this service and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to schedule posts for their social media marketing.

Vorteile:

I love how easy this is to setup and get started. There is a free version and a premium version. Both options have much to offer. The customer support is amazing and the website also offers tutorials on how best to use the service to maximize your scheduling.

Nachteile:

I love the software but the only thing I dislike is the time zone difference. The creator and the program is set up in a different time zone, so you have to adjust your posts to schedule in the time zone that best works for you.

IFTTT - action automation with limitations

Vorteile:

IFTTT is a great service that allows you to automate repetitive tasks without knowing how to code. It is really good at several things including: 1) Recipe Marketplace- If you are new to IFTTT you can easily get started with their marketplace of applets or Recipes. Using recipes (as they are called) you can easily connect services and begin to create new tasks. The good thing is that there are many different options. 2) Automatically posting Social posts - If you connect your social media networks, you can post from one site to the other automatically. So you could theoretically post from Twitter to Facebook and vice versa. Really good feature. 3) Home automation - most people will agree smart home automation is a mess but IFTTT bridges the gap allow you to connect different smart home devices to get almost true automation.

Nachteile:

I feel like IFTTT actions do not always work, for example if you have a service running and you encounter an error, you have to delete the recipe and start all over. Some recipes are pointless, the quality in the marketplace really varies. You have to test before committing to any recipe. Have had instances where an Tweet is not shared to Facebook or vice versa but IFTTT says the recipe was run. There are instances where you do need to know a bit of coding to get create recipes that have a lot of triggers and in some cases even pay someone to get things done for you. For the most part its easy to get started but you may need to be a coder to create some complex recipes that have multiple tasks and triggers.

Vorteile:

IFTTT is very easy to use and was very easy to teach to my team. I have also gotten many of my friends back in Uganda to use IFTTT because of how it simplifies tasks.

Nachteile:

IFTTT used to be free and I loved it. Then they came up with IFTTT Pro which threw me off because most small businesses like a free thing every once in a while. Regardless, the cost is not terribly high so my team continues to use it.

Automation for Everyone But Has Its Limits

Vorteile:

IFTTT brings free automation/integrations to a huge variety of apps and offers a pretty straightforward user interface to do it, which makes it a great way for anyone to start using automation. One of the key benefits it has over some other popular automation platforms (aside from being free) is that it has a fully featured, native mobile apps for iOS and Google Play, and even the super helpful Apple Watch app. The big standouts benefits for me are the ability to work with iPhone stock apps in a direct manner, and the extensive list of supported home automation services, which many alternative platforms don't include.

Nachteile:

IFTTT is better for home and lifestyle use than business use. It lacks support for a lot of enterprise software systems, and the ones it does support have fairly thin offerings for pre-built integrations/automations. The service, while free, also has been known to go out more frequently (and for extended periods of time) so it's not great for critical applications. The other big limitation is that IFTTT supports one-step automations, but anything needing conditional input or multiple steps can't be done directly in the app (although more savvy users can connect it to other apps to simulate that type of workflow).

Long time user, one of my favourite apps.

Kommentare: I'm able to save time and more importantly brain power by automating some of the more mundane and redundant tasks from my day to day using this awesome app.

Vorteile:

I have been using IFTTT since shortly after it launched many years ago. It's a really powerful piece of software, connecting and automating your life beautifully. In recent years they have published more connections for smart homes, and this is where they really excel, though there are still a full plethora of apps available to connect with powerful triggers, tokens and variables. They have also done an amazing job of making it accessible to setup up, easy for just about anyone to understand.

Nachteile:

If I could change one thing, it would be to allow a service to connect to more than one account. Sometimes this is incredibly limiting.

Robust integrations for smart home, less for solopreneurs

Kommentare: Overall this is one of the best tools in my toolkit, one that would be hard to let go and replace.

Vorteile:

It allows setting seamless integrations between your gadgets. Pretty reliable in terms of uptime. Vast library of tools and platforms to connect.

Nachteile:

The advanced features are somewhat lacking. Although the platform supports any external webhook, writing your own applets using the IFTTT current tools (let alone debugging them) is quite cumbersome and left me frustrated. In addition I could have been notified on failed runs instead of checking myself why I haven't received a message in a while.

This recipes are unlimited

Kommentare: I use IFTTT to wake up everyday. It starts my lights, music and coffeemaker so it's easier for me.

Vorteile:

IFTTT started a few years ago a movement supporting the Internet of Things and never stopped. It has a lot of recipes already created to work with more than 200 devices and apps. Also, you can create and customise yours. Is one of the best apps on the market (not only of it's category).

Nachteile:

Due to iOS, it doesn't work great with iPhones, iPads, Homepods or Macbooks. It does the job, but is not unlimited.

Cool automation tool

The interface lacks a little dynamism. so need to improve.

Amazing and So Cool

Kommentare: It is been amazing and know that we have it set up I hope it does not go away. We depend on it every day.

Vorteile:

The ability to move data from one product to another product has never been so easy and helpful. We take video content from our Ring Doorbell and move it over to other application or spreadsheets super easy.

Nachteile:

I wish that they had other applications/software tools that could use with this software. It looks like it is more consumer foreclosed than it is for business. I still use Zapier for some of my business stuff.

Digital and mobile integrator in real life

Kommentare: Everyday, a picture from my google photos is set as my mobile phone's wallpaper.
Every night it mutes my phone and volumes up in the morning.
When I add a new picture to Instagram, it saves it to Google Photos.

Vorteile:

The best thing is that it is mobile. It works on all mobile platforms. It is easy to use. It is just like a drag and drop game to create. Its interface is really wide and has big icosns so it is nice for people like me having eye problems.

Nachteile:

Pricing model would be something more payable such as price per applet model. Because 3 applet is not too much for free. It can be 10. There is Pinterest connection problem.

Great for personal projects

Great app and very useful

Vorteile:

I love that it was so easy to set up little ifttt runs. Even just simple things like when I get out of the car, turning off my Bluetooth when I connect to my home WiFi so that I'm not wasting my phone battery or cross posting things from one social media platform to another.

Nachteile:

For some of it you need to know what it is you want to do in advance. It can be difficult to be inspired by the app sometimes.

Vorteile:

I'd want to say that I've been using IFTTT before anyone else knew about it. Okay, maybe not "anyone", but I've been using it since they only had a few channels, and thought it was the best thing ever. I know there are now different competitors out there that charge you for usage, but IFTTT is the O.G. of the task automation and linking up actions of the Internet of Things (IOT). Super easy to configure, and possibilities are endless.

Nachteile:

I've had some issues with IFTTT that the trigger wouldn't fire properly, but it's hard to pinpoint it to the software when it could be the case of hardware (in this case blink1).

Great!

Vorteile:

Love this app. There are so many apps available to use in your applets and they seem to constantly add new ones. Also like that we have the choice of copying applets made by others, copying and then modifying those made by others, or building our own from scratch.

Nachteile:

Would like a faster/more structured way to browse applets that others have made. Would also like to be able to get some kind of feedback/tips/help to figure out why some applets don’t seem to work or stopped working. Maybe that’s just a matter of a brief note or tip published by the creator (or anyone?) on the applet details page.

The Gateway app for Automation

Vorteile:

Although IFTTT is the most basic automation platform, the simple UI offers benefits that other apps can’t. - Picking the pre-made triggers is easiest on this platform. - it’s like, shopping for automations - simple UI offers automation ideas that you haven’t thought of Integrates with other Automation tools (Drafts5 & Workflow) to complete advanced automations

Nachteile:

None. But, actions/triggers are limited to whatever is available by the software companies. So, can’t customize with additional coding, like zapier’s formatter. But I’m not a programmer and can barely write JavaScript

Your Own Personal Secretary

Kommentare: I have my personal secretary using this tool in my pocket, running on its own in the background, making my life easier.

Vorteile:

It's easy to set up and use, and once you do, its automation is the most powerful out there. Any two things you want to link together can be done using this tool. Emails, notes, messages, home control, ordering a taxi, setting up alarms and reminders...you name it.

Nachteile:

If the link you want is not already created in their available library, you need to set it up yourself, which can be tricky sometimes. Creating loops is possible, which can accumulate junk email in your inbox for instance.
